"If I am not welcomed, then I shall make a swift departure."
Crochet's eyes were fixed on the nightmares that were now clustered together, their eyes, hooves, and feathers glowing in the darkness. She was aware that the fence was close behind her, if she had to retreat then she would be out of danger fairly quickly. Her past had been painful, but yet it made her wise when dealing with others of her kind.
When she heard the comment from her newly discovered uncle, Crochet's ears flicked sideways, but she chose to ignore it. Crochet let silence fall between herself and the herd, her body slowly was relieved of tension and her mark wasn't troubling her now. She let the silence linger a little longer before she decided to try something conversation.
"Why do you dwell here?"
It was a question that didn't have to be answered, but yet she was curious to know. Her aunt was a powerful nightmare, but yet she was living amongst humans, or maybe she wasn't...Crochet really didn't care. As for herself...she had been born amongst humans and had been wild on and off, her current establishment seemed like it would be permanent.

Then Came Baby...
The brunette sat on the couch and gently stroked her belly with one hand. It was now fully obvious that Sile was expecting as her stomach was heavily rounded from the baby, the size of her swollen stomach hinted fully that she only had one more month to go before she held a little baby in her arms.
Sile was bored. She loved the idea of being a mother, of carrying her Dimi-bear's child. But the biggest disadvantage of being pregnant was no the morning sickness, mood swings, or cramps...it was the fact that she was stuck inside most of the time and quickly ran out of things to do.
Her cat Taygen and recent adopted mutt, Mora were good company, but the pair could not keep her boredom away. It was a relief when the sky darkened out of her windows and the brunette decided to head off to bed. Before she retired, however, she paused to check her emails, hopeful for more updates on Mangabey's new foal, but there was nothing of use.
Disappointed but merely shrugging it off. Sile went to bed...
The clock said 9:20 when Sile woke up. The brunette laid there, trying to figure out what had woken her up. She did not have a bad dream and her mind did not have any thoughts of great importance...so why did she wake up? After several long hours and nothing happening the brunette stable owner decided that it must had been nothing. Her eyes closed. And then she felt the wetness. The brunette's eyes snapped opened and she shot up quickly and shoved her covers back, her eyes widening at the size at the stained bed sheets. But almost instantly her mind registered the pain in her abdomen, pain that was quickly becoming worst. Sile's instincts quickly made her mind click on the source...something she did not want to believe...it was too early! Only another month to go and then it would be here, that was how it was supposed to be! What happened next was a blur that Sile could only faintly recall later. She remember grabbing her phone and sending messages to Gav and Leonardo, she faintly remember packing a back with some clothes, Mora being of some service and the rest was just blank. It almost surprised her to find herself in the hospital, but there was only one thing on her mind now...
She wanted Dimitri, she didn't care that he was far away. She didn't want to go through this alone, she needed her Dimi-bear here with here, to make the intense pain go away.
Oh Dimitri...please hurry!

The Monkey's Baby
Manga decided that today she would give her temporary busboy a break and for once be a well behave little Obertaurer mare. She did not try to run off or stop at random times to look at something she already seen about ten times. Manga was going to be a good girl for Jonathan and make him be both surprised and proud.
After a quick breakfast and morning brush, the mare was turned out with Noob and Daffy to enjoy the nice day that it was. The heavily pregnant mare snuffled happily as she tore mouthful of crisp green grass. She wanted to take a dust bath as well, but due to the extra luggage it wasn't comfy.
When a strange car drove in, the Obertaurers lifted their heads to watch. Manga suddenly went alert. She missed Sile, even though she had been settling in well at Ocotillo stables and had plenty of friends in the staff and horses, Mangabey still longed for Downy Falls, the horses that were there, and her beloved owner. Was Sile back for her now?
The eagerness drew Manga to the fence, her ears pricked, eyes bright. Waiting to see the familiar brunette that had raised her sense she was weaned. The anticipation was killing her.
The outcome ended up ruining her. Manga stared at the pale-haired woman for a long time, her rich brown eyes blinking several times as if she were mistaken, that perhaps she was just seeing things and if she cleared her brain then she would see the sable-brown hair and coffee brown eyes of Silena. But she was not dreaming or seeing things. This woman was not Sile, she didn't know who she was but she did not care.
Mangabey turned and slowly moved away, her sooty brown head dropping as she retreated to the far side of the pasture. There she stayed, ignoring the calls from Jonathan or the other handlers and not reacting to Noob, Daffy, or even little Elsa who tried getting her to play.
The grulla was homesick once more.
The next morning Manga was not in plain view in the pasture. The mare had ignored all attempts to bring her in last night and spent the night outside. It was warm and nice out so there was not much concern, but finding no trace of her had everyone on their toes, did she escape once more? As Harry was preparing to give instructions to the staff, a brown head appeared from other a small hill in the pasture. The eyes blinked at the people by the fence then the figure slowly surfaced. It was Mangabey. But she was not alone. A small foal wobbled behind her. Its body was a sooty palomino with sabino markings like Manga had. It was small and obviously still fairly new and as the pair drew closer it was revealed to be a filly. Manga gazed at her foal, obviously very proud by the life she brought into the world. Her melancholy had vanished, replaced by feelings of love and wonder by the tiny creature that was hers. At first she had been confused to where it had came from, uncertain of how this little animal could come from her. The next part was how odd the little thing was. The coat had been slick with blood and birthing fluids and its legs were thin and folded and when the young horse struggled to her feet her legs wobbled severely which sent her tumbling to the ground. But after the awe and young mother confusions, Manga felt an intense warmth, a feeling to love and nurture the little one. It was her baby.
Mangabey was back to grazing while her little one clung to her flank, peering around at the world with large eyes and twitching nostrils. The tiny filly was observing the odd new world in which she found herself and she was the first to see the new horses being led into their pasture, suddenly scared, the foal hid under her dam. Manga lifted her head and pricked her ears. Moving to not hurt her baby, the grulla walked up to her two pasture mates. The first horse she greeted was Nárcisz then down to little Elsa who was looking around from beside her dam. Manga next turned her old friend and touched noses to Noob. The grulla moved slightly to the side to show odd her new baby. Both mares carefully sniffed the little one over, then gave gentle snuffles of comfort. Elsa raced around the pasture then went up to her new playmate, in awe at how tiny the little one was. Daffy quickly gave her some quick punishment before the new foal got harmed. As Manga dropped her head back to graze, she felt slightly better. She still missed Sile and Downy Falls, but her new baby had soothe some of that ache. She knew that now that her foal was here, that Sile would be coming for her and soon she would be where she belonged.
All she needed was patience.

The Preparations Begin
Sile's breath caught in her throat as her eyes peered at the ring that Dimitri held. His words echoed in the morning air and swarmed around her mind. She had to think this through...it was all so sudden. Her eyes flickered briefly to Dimitri's eyes then back down, she had to make this choice. She had to choose her response carefully.
Her mother told her to wait until she was absolutely certain that she wanted to do something big. She had warned her that some choices did not have a do-over button attached, if she acted without being sure where her heart and mind were at then she would end up regretting her choice later.
Sile's mind replay that night. That was another scenario where she had to think. She had to decide how far she would let it go. It increased steadily, each touch made her feel good until the final seconds. She had been forced to choose; to give Dimitri to go ahead or stop and wait until she felt ready...she had went ahead, that was the point of no return.
As for this...The wedding may not happen quickly, but being fiancées and engaged would loom over their heads. It would be during that time that could make them or break them. Was she ready to pave the way for such a commitment. Her coffee brown eyes lifted to Dimitri's and her heartbeat calmed, her breathing steadied, her worries and fear melted away like dew.
"Yes..." Silena's voice was soft, almost a whisper in the quietness. "I do." A smile formed on her lips and she felt a rush of joy gazing at her lover. The relief and love on his face melted her head as he pressed his lips against hers, soft and gentle. Then carefully she felt him take her left hand and place on the ring. She pulled back from the kiss to admire it then wrapped her arms around her Dimi-Bear. Her chin nestling into his strong, warm chest. "I'm glad that I met you and now you are mine." Sile whispered and pressed their lips together once more.
With her own impending pregnancy, Sile was forced to face around problem. Mangabey. The Obertaurer was pregnant with her first foal and due sometime during the summer. Sile had wanted to be the one to be there for her little girl, but already she was finding some tasks difficult. Her mornings were often filled with nausea, and sometimes it got too much that she had to lie down. That kind of attention would not do Manga any good if there was an emergency. The offer from Ocotillo Stables have seemed like a blessing from above. Sile knew the stable from the young Obertaurer, Noob who was an old playmate of Manga. Having another horse her age may help the young mare and having more able-bodied staff that could an eye on her would be relieving. But yet...Sile did not want to do this. She couldn't bear not having Manga there to great her in the mornings. The grullo was her first visit when she made her rounds. Also, how would Manga react? Noob may be a good friend and distraction, but the young mare always was aware that her mother was nearby even if she could not see, hear, or smell her. It was a hard choice accepting the offer, but Sile had to admit defeat. It would not be for long after all, only until Manga had her foal and perhaps by then her own baby would be born.
It was early morning and Sile was asleep when Dimitri came over earlier than usual. The tall male let himself into the house and instantly noted that it was dark and silent, clearly Sile was not up yet, but she would be soon enough. Dimitri carefully sat his bad down and slipped off his shoes before he made his way up the stairs, making sure to avoid the sound of the squeaky steps. He met Sile's cat at the top of the stairs. The tortie giving Dimitri a simple look then meowed, rubbing against the man's ankles before she set off down the stairs, leaving only Dimitri in the hallway. Dimitri chuckled and shook his head then carried on to the door of Sile's room and gently turned the knob, then opened it, slipping into his girlfriend's bedroom. Sile was still asleep, lying on her back comfortably. It had been a foreign feeling at first, but she was now used to it and slept soundly. Dimitri smiled and carefully made his way over to the bed, peering down at his sleeping fiancée. He eased the covers down from where they covered her belly, then gently pushed her loose pajama shirt up. Dimitri felt his smile widened as he leaned down to lightly smooch her tummy. "Morning, baby." He whispered fondly and place a hand against her stomach, feeling a wave of warmth when he felt the bump against his fingers. Sile was starting to stir from the slight chill of air against the bare skin of her belly, and she could feel a light brush of something tickling her stomach, but she fully awoken from the feeling of lips being pressed to her own. Sleepy chocolate eyes opened to see twin pools of green peering down at her and she smiled. "Morning, love." Dimitri murmured and kissed her once more. Sile gave a tired smile, "morning, Dimi-bear," she murmured and lifted a hand to cup his cheek. "What are you doing here so early?" Sile asked him as she began to wake up more. "Was worried and I had to make sure you were okay, love." "Oh...well, I'm fine Dimi." Sile replied. Dimitri grinned at her. "I don't think so," he said and rubbed her belly gently. "I think you need some pampering, both you and our wee one." Sile gave a laugh and settled back against her pillows to watch her beloved Dimi-bear and decided that maybe she could bear his clinginess...for now at least.

Happy Birthday Dimi-bear
Sile snuggled closer to Dimitri, taking in his warm scent and loving his cuddliness. Dimitri was warm and cuddly which was why she started calling him "Dimi-bear" it just made him cuter. The brunette settled back, ready to close her eyes and go back to sleep when she suddenly looked at the calendar.
What was the date? She blinked her coffee-brown eyes for a bit then it hit her. The twenty-ninth of May...Dimitri's birthday! She felt the baby bump from within and smiled, gently rubbing the space lightly. "We're going to give daddy a good birthday, alright?" she murmured softly and felt the nudge against her fingers.
Sile left Dimitri sleeping and carefully got out of bed. She showered then dressed and carefully made her way downstairs and into the kitchen of WSS. To her surprise she saw Keisha was awake with Annie, the little girl was in her high chair. "Hey Sile, big day today," Keisha said with a smile and Sile nodded.
With the redhead's help, she prepared a simple breakfast and took it upstairs. As she entered the room she saw that Dimitri was just waking up. His sleepy green eyes widened as he saw her bringing him breakfast in bed. "what's the occasion?" he asked in a silly voice. Sile laughed a bit and sat beside him after giving him the tray.
"I think you should know it, birthday boy," the brunette teased. Dimitri paused to kiss her deeply on the lips and Sile nestled close to his side and ended up dozing off while he ate. She felt the bed creak as Dimitri put the tray to the side then found herself on her back, Dimitri's warm hands were lifting the front of her shirt and she burst into giggle as he placed kisses on her tummy.
"This is going to be the best birthday ever," Dimitri whispered into her ear.
The morning was fairly simple as Keisha gave Dimitri a day off from chores. That afternoon was the party and Sile had something big planned. During the part, the young brunette excused herself and went outside wanting to check something. She went outside and behind one of the stables to a corral. "Hey pretty," Sile murmured to the horse that was in there. Said horse coming to push its nose into her hands. It had taken a lot for Sile to locate this horse, but luckily she had assistance from her future mother-in-law whose mind was quite sharp. Sile fed the horse a carrot and stroked its neck fondly then pulled out her phone and sent a quick text to Keisha to lead Dimitri outside.
Keisha's phone chimed and she picked it up, reading the message and grinned. "Let's go outside, Sile's got a good treat for you, Dimi. Dimitri blinked when he found his vision suddenly blocked by a blindfold and heard Finn chuckle. "You have to be blindfolded, but I'll keep you out of trouble, Dimi," the brunette male grinned. The party led the blindfolded man to where Sile was waiting with Kaitlin, the two women were calm, but both grinning. For a moment there was nothing then Sile nodded. "You can look now." Jamie helped untie the blindfold and it fell off, thought the brightness made Dimitri blink for a while before he took in the sight before him and his jaw dropped opened, his eyes widened...It...It couldn't be. It could be his horse...the horse who was forced to be sold because they had to move, but yet...it was! Sile wrapped her arms around her lover's waist and nuzzled her nose against his shoulder. "Happy birthday, Dimi-bear," she murmured gently to him. Dimitri looked at his mother then back at his fiancée, he didn't know what to say...but he knew that nothing he said could truly tell how much he was feeling. He turned and pressed his lips to Sile's, holding his pregnant girlfriend and peppered her faces with kisses before he kissed his mother on the cheek. This was the best birthday ever.

Meet Manga
Meet Mangabey, or Manga for short. She is a five year old Obertaurer who is expecting her first foal, but due to her owner also expecting it was decided that Manga was to be boarded at one of Downy Falls' affiliated stables (or friend stables). The home to Manga's BFF Noob. Manga might have a baby bump, but she has not ran out of spunk and with Noob and two Waler stallions, it's clear that they gals are going to be up to no good and drive their handler up the wall with mischief.
Manga may be a sweet mare, but she has plenty of tricks up her sleeve and she'll use each and every one of them to make her stay at Ocotillo one exciting. These are the lessons to hopefully keep this tricky Obertaurer out of trouble, but sometimes it's better to just learn the hard way.
